Apple today announced the introduction of multi-colored iPod Shuffles. As well as the original second generation iPod Shuffle in silver there are now blue, orange, green, and pink versions. One ’secret’ [OK not really a secret but something that’s missing from early reports] is that the new shuffles come with new style earphones.

These were introduced with the 2nd generation nano but, until now, were not available with the shuffle. The picture above from the Apple site shows the new style earphones.

For those people who wanted to get the new earphones at $29 on their own, they could now spend $79 and in effect get the shuffle for $50.

I have a 2nd Gen. nano and prefer the new earphones over the old. They are more comfortable and they stay in the ear more securely.

My early color preference is the blue version.
