Lamy 2000

I have a Lamy fountain pen as well as a rollerball and a pencil. The fountain pen was a Christmas gift and was without doubt the best present I ever got. The writing action is better than my Mont Blanc.
These pens are the opposite of ‘bling’. The design is completely understated both in terms of finish and the materials used in its construction.
Fountain Pen
The body of the pen is made up of a matt black fibre-glass type composite and is coupled with a brushed stainless steel barrel and clip. The clip itself is a work of art being machined from a solid block. The nib is platinum coated gold.
The pen is designed as a sealed unit. The refilling process only requires that the end cap be rotated three times in each direction.
The rollerball and pencil are of a similar design.
These pens function beautifully. They don’t scream ‘look at me’ and represent the best of functional design. They look as modern today as when they were introduced by Lamy in 1966.
